Review ~ Rimmel BB cream Radiance

 Rimmel BB cream Radiance, $12.95

Where to buy in Australia: Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Target

I have been on the hunt for a BB cream for days that I don’t feel like wearing a full face of makeup. I recently tried the BB stay matte cream but unfortunately I was not impressed. I then decided to try this BB cream by Rimmel as I do love their products and I instantly fell in love!

Summary...

  • Lightweight natural coverage
  • Built in primer
  • Shea butter to moisturise and hydrate for up to 24 hours
  • Vitamin C Complex to brighten
  • Concealing properties to reduce the appearance of blemishes
  • SPF20 for protection
  • 3 shades – very light, light, medium

About...

There isn’t a huge colour selection for this BB cream but the majority of skin tones will be able to find their shade there is a very light, light, and medium shade. I purchased the light shade (see swatch below)

This product can be purchased from many stores including, Priceline,Big W, Target, K-Mart, Woolworths, Coles, Chemist Warehouse and I’m sure many more stores. I purchased mine from Priceline for $12.95 and you can usually find this on sale for even cheaper!

Application, Finish and Longevity...

I use my fingers to apply this BB cream to my face face and then blend in with my beauty blender. It’s so easy and quick and the result is still flawless!

This BB cream is not completely dewy and not matte I would say it’s more of a satin finish. Coverage wise this BB cream has a light –medium coverage which is buildable to a medium coverage. On days where I would like more of a medium – full coverage I add in one pump of my Covergirl 3 in 1 foundation and it works perfectly and still feels light and looks radiant on the skin.

The lasting power of this product is pretty amazing and does have a primer included! I did also set mine with a powder so that may have helped the longevity of this product. I have been wearing it for about 8 hours (to work for a full day) and it has lasted really well until it started to fade a little around my forehead and chin.

Final thoughts...

Overall I think this product is amazing for a BB cream! It feels hydrating on the skin, feels lightweight and as the name suggests is radiant and is great for an everyday natural radiant look. For the price I would really recommend checking this product out and you can always wait until Priceline have their sales to purchase this product for even less if you are unsure!

If anyone has any other BB cream recommendations feel free to leave them below !

Feel free to leave your blog in a comment below so I can check it out :)

BH COSMETICS ~10 Color Glamorous Blush Palette ~ Review + Swatches

Where to buy: BH Cosmetics Glamorous Blush Palette

I have an obsession with Blush at the moment! I was instantly drawn to this BH cosmetics 10 colour palette. BH cosmetics are sooo affordable and are of great quality for the price.

SUMMARY

  • 10 Shades both Matte and Shimmer
  • Suitable for both day and night
  • Would suite all skin tones
  • Clinically tested (not tested on Animals)
  • Non-Irritating
  • Perfect shades for all year round
  • Flirty fun colours
  • Pigmented
  • Compact and easy to travel with

ABOUT

The BH Cosmetics Glamorous Blush Palette comes with 10 shades. It contains soft nudes, pretty pinks and deep berry shades in both matte and shimmer finishes. The usual price for this palette is $16.95 and is currently on sale for only $6.95 which is so affordable! The shipping to Australia is around $10.00 which I think is amazing.

This palette has so much variety. The deep berry shades would be perfect for the autumn and winter time and the more nude and pink shades are perfect for spring and summer. Another bonus with this palette is that it provides both matte finish blushes and shimmer finish blushes which in my opinion are perfect for a night out.

The pigmentation of this palette as a whole is great. There are a few shades which are not as pigmented as others which you can see in the swatches below. The majority of these colours would suite any skin tone and they are non-irritating on the skin. These blushes are also not tested on animals which I'm so happy about!

TEXTURE, APPLICATION AND LONGEVITY

Some of the shades in this palette are smooth, buttery and easy to blend where as others tend to go on a little patchy but this is easily fixed with buffing and blending them into the skin. In my opinion the shimmer shades are more pigmented, buttery and easier to blend whereas the matte shades are sheer but are easily buildable and a few of the berry darker shades can be a little bit chalky compared to the shimmer shades. Most of these blushes have great pigmentation and last all throughout the day. I use this blush palette on a daily basis and I have had no problems with the blushes fading throughout the day, keeping in mind that I have not tried out the darker berry shades I have only swatched these. To apply and blend out these blushes I use my Real Techniques Blush Brush which is amazing and i highly recommend it.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Overall I love this blush palette and I would recommend it to anyone who is on a budget or for anyone who wants to build up their blush collection.

I do wish that they were sold separately as I would definitely repurchase the top first two shades and the bottom first two shades as I am in love with these colours and wear them on a daily basis.

I was very impressed by this blush palette and it has made me very excited to purchase and try out some more of their products.

Review: Nars Sheer Glow Foundation

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation, $59

Where to buy in Australia: Mecca

I have always wanted to try this foundation as SOO many people have said it is their holy grail product in there makeup collection, a Mecca Maxima store opened up in my area (finally!) and I thought it was the perfect time to pick up this foundation and give it my review.....so here we go!

SUMMARY

  • Lightweight on the skin
  • No SPF (which is great for flash photography)
  • Fragrance free
  • Suits normal to dry skin
  • Medium to full coverage
  • Satin finish

ABOUT

The Nars Sheer Glow Foundation has a thin liquid texture and is extremely lightweight on the skin. It is available in 20 shades and has no SPF in the formulation. This foundation has a simple glass bottle & comes without a pump (unfortunately) but! I picked up a Nars pump which fits perfectly for around $4.

TEXTURE, FINISH, COVERAGE AND APPLICATION

The Nars Sheer Glow foundation has a very lightweight, silky natural looking finish and does not look 'cake' at all. I found that it did make my skin look brighter and in natural light had a really nice glow to the skin. I do set it with a small amount of powder and this foundation does not dry out my skin at all.

Nars Sheer Glow has a medium coverage but can easily be built up to a full coverage which is what I love to wear. After one layer of this foundation it evened out my skin tone, added a nice healthy glow to my skin and you could still see your natural skin peeking through. After a second layer the foundation still looks natural and healthy but added a bit more coverage creating a flawless natural look. Some of my freckles are still visible after a second layer of foundation which I don't mind. This foundation has a great coverage which covers all of my imperfections and uneven skin tone without looking cakey or feeling heavy on the skin. I was so amazed at how lightweight this foundation is especially compared to the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation (which is my holy grail foundation).

To apply this foundation I use my beauty blender. The beauty blender works amazing with this foundation as it creates an airbrush look and evenly distributes the foundation. A buffing brush would also work well with this foundation.

There is no SPF in this foundations formula which is great for flash photography and means you won't get flash back when taking photographs with a flash. This foundation would be perfect for special occasions or events where you know you will be having your photo taken. I would recommend wearing an SPF sunscreen or moisturiser with this foundation if you are not planning on having your picture taken or if you are going to be out in the sun on a daily basis to protect your skin.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I am really impressed with this foundation and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a lightweight foundation. I have been using it as my everyday foundation for the past couple of weeks and I love it! It is perfect for days where I want a more natural look or I can build it up to have a full coverage if I'm heading out to dinner and it still feels lightweight on the skin as you build it up which is great!

This foundation is not as long wearing as my Estee Lauder double wear foundation but for an everyday use it is perfect. The best features about this foundation are the weightless feel of the foundation and the fact that it does not have SPF which makes this foundation perfect for special events.

I would recommend this foundation to anyone who is looking for a natural yet buildable foundation for everyday wear and for anyone who has normal to dry skin.

I definitely think it is worth the price!
